Hello, I'm Ranger!

I'm a Designer and Engineer who recently graduated from Virginia Tech's Mechanical Engineering program. As a student, I worked in the Assistive Robotics Lab, where I'm co-authoring two academic papers and co-led the design of multiple exoskeletons.

I've always had a strong desire to shift my engineering work towards user-focused design and to structure design work on solid engineering. As we wrap up our second paper, which is under review, I hope to find work which joins my passions for industrial design and engineering.

When I'm not doing lab work, you might find me playing board games, sewing phrygian caps, spiking a volleyball, or researching church history.

Definitely reach out, even you don't have an opening just yet. I'd love to hear about what you do, as I navigate my next steps.

As I grow older, I am increasingly aware of how much I've been blessed by the people who've helped me along the way. No one is an island, and without the efforts of my teachers, and the Assistive Robotics Lab, I wouldn't have a single exoskeleton or paper to my name. Joshua Hull and Dr. Alan Asbeck have put immense work into the papers and exoskeletons shared on this site. Definitely check out their other work as they're pretty incredible people.

My funding for graduate school was through the Honors Residential Commons at Virginia Tech. The community's encouragement was amazing, and I'm grateful to have worked with them. Additionally, I'm far too blessed to neglect thanking God for where I am. I do not deserve the family I was given, and am incredibly thankful for their care and commitment.
